When does the Sardon Run 2026 take place?
The Sardon Run 2026 takes place Saturday 22 August 2026. Departures vary by distance: 5:00 AM for the ultra distances (49 km and 71 km) and 6:00 PM–6:30 PM for the shorter distances (7 km, 17 km, 22 km).
The Sardon Run takes place in the Sardon region.
Departure and arrival at the’Fisherman's Village Island a Duino (TS), in the Municipality of Duino Aurisina, Friuli Venezia Giulia. The routes cross the Trieste Karst, Mount Ermada (Grmada), the Rilke Trail, the Timavo Estuary and areas near the Slovenian border.

- Sardon Ultra Marathon — 49 km · 1366 m ascent · 5 hrs
- Sardon Ultra Stage — 71 km · 1989 m of ascent · 5:00 hours
What is the longest distance?
The longest distance is the Sardon Ultra Stage 71 km With 1989 m D+. Combine the route of the Sardon Ultra Marathon (49 km) and the Sardon Half Marathon (22 km) into a single day starting at 5:00 AM.
Can I come with the dog?
Yes, dogs are allowed on leads on the trails. Sardonzin (7 km), Saroninpolku (17 km) e Sardinia Half Marathon (22 km). Please consult the regulations for details.
🩺 Medical certificate
Is a doctor's note required to participate?
It depends on the chosen mode:
- Competitive mode (with chart insertion): required is the competitive medical certificate valid for athletics, cross-country skiing, triathlon, cycling or swimming.
- Non-competitive mode (Unranked): the medical certificate Not required. Participation involves a finish order with times, but no official ranking.
For both modes, there is provision for Finisher's medal.
Do non-Italian athletes need to present a medical certificate?
The athletes who They are not Italian citizens e they are not part of a sports club recognised by the CONI they are exempt from uploading the certificate even for the competitive mode. However, it is recommended to be in good physical shape. Refer to Official regulations For details.

How do I sign up?
Registration is via the RaceResult platform. Go to the page Registrations and choose your distance.
Where are the bibs collected?
The collection of bibs takes place on the day of the race at’Fisherman's Village Island, Duino:
- Sardonzin (7 km): Saturday 22 August, 3:00 PM–6:00 PM
- Sardon Trail (17 km): Saturday 22 August, 3:00 PM–5:30 PM
- Sardon Half Marathon (22 km): Saturday 22 August, 3:00 PM–5:30 PM
- Sardon Ultra Marathon (49 km): Saturday 22 August, 4:00–5:00
- Sardon Ultra Stage (71 km): Saturday 22 August, 4:00 AM – 5:00 AM

GPX tracks are available to all subscribers 3 days before the race via email. Please consult the individual competition pages for more information.
What is the compulsory material?

How do time gates work?
Each distance has cut-off times at the checkpoints. Please consult your race's specific page and the regulation for details of maximum times and cut-offs.

Does the Sardon Run count towards the ITRA and UTMB Index?
Yes, some distances award points:
