Among trenches, dinosaurs and... sardines!
An evening walk by the sea, from Prehistory to the First World War... to fried sardines at sunset!
The heart of the experience is Punta BratinaThe promontory overlooking the Villaggio del Pescatore is dotted with caves and 'caves of the Great War', with emplacements and walkways that tell the story of life at the front. Here the volunteers of the Flondar Group have created a small border museum that preserves the memory of the place and opens a view of the Karst, up to the defence system of the Mount Ermada. From the tip to the sea, history can be read in the landscape: limestones, trenches, caves and, just below, the village born in the 1950s.
The evening begins with an easy walk suitable for everyone among caves and historical artefacts, led by speleologists from the Flondar Group. Continued at Museum 'History and Prehistory around the Timavo'where the journey starts from dinosaurs in the Fisherman's Village and reaches back to the Middle Ages and the First World War, with exhibits, unpublished photos and a model that makes the front of the Ermada easy to read. It closes as tradition dictates, by the sea, with fried sardines (also vegan options).

Comfortable shoes, insect repellent and a personal cup or container for drinking at the refreshment point are recommended: no disposables. The visit to the museum and the walk in the trenches are free and reserved for registered participants of the Sardonzin 6 km (fee €15: T-shirt, medal, insurance, number with chip, refreshments at the halfway point).
